The Visual Language of Magazines
(2019)
'The Visual Language of Magazines - A Typographic Archive' is just that. It is an archive of typography that illustrates how magazines use typefaces to communicate different themes and tones. Spanning over one hundred magazine titles, the catalogue explores various systems of categorization, which are presented in multiple tables of contents. The catalogue can be categorized by magazine title, typeface, type foundry/designer, and genre of magazine. My hope is that other designers like myself will appreciate a one-stop-shop for references and inspiration when it comes to picking typefaces for their own projects.
