(Un)plugged

(Un)plugged is a board game following the general game play of snakes and ladders, wherein the plugged in wires feature as ladders and the unplugged wires form the snakes. Additionally, to increase engagement and interactivity, the game comes with cards that feature prompts which correspond to either the ladders or the snakes. These prompts are deeply speculative about a potential digital future, and they allow the players to discuss as well as introspect about the demands of the prompts and then answer increasingly personal questions. The aim of the game is to open a conversation about our technological future, and also incite a feeling of violation and uneasiness in the players. (Un)plugged is a part of my senior thesis project 'The Digitorium' at Parsons.
